Recovery, Measured.
More than a decade of focused research has shaped the way Dr.Friend approaches recovery. From foundational studies to controlled human research, we continue to examine the conditions that support better rest, balance, and everyday recovery.

THE EVIDENCE JOURNEY
From Scientific Questions to Measurable Evidence
Recovery begins with understanding.
Dr.Friend develops its research through a step-by-step process—from building
a scientific framework to examining mechanisms, evaluating human outcomes, and expanding the evidence through publication and follow-up studies.

FOUNDATION
Building the Research
Framework
Collaborations with universities,
hospitals, and research institutions
help establish the scientific
framework for recovery research.

MECHANISM
Understanding How
Recovery Works
Preclinical studies examine
physiological responses related
to sleep, stress, inflammation,
and the recovery environment
under defined conditions.

HUMAN RESEARCH
Evaluating Real-
World Outcomes
Controlled human studies
evaluate measurable sleep-
and stress-related outcomes.

ACADEMIC EXPANSION
Publication
and Follow-up
Peer-reviewed publications and
follow-up studies expand the scope
of the evidence and create new
questions for continued research.

FEATURED HUMAN STUDY
Sleep and Stress, Examined Together
A 30-day randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled
study involving 56 participants evaluated sleep-
and stress-related measures.
Within the test group, the study reported lower scores
in sleep quality, insomnia severity, and perceived stress
measures after the study period.
On day 31, actigraphy indicated a significantly
longer sleep duration in the test group compared
with the control group.
REPORTED CHANGES
WITHIN THE TEST GROUP
40% Lower
PSQI · Sleep Quality Score
50% Lower
ISI-K · Insomnia Severity Score
31% Lower
BEPSI · Perceived Stress Score
Results are based on the study conditions and participants described in the referenced research.

Sleep Improvement Study for
Individuals Experiencing Insomnia
- Scientifically demonstrated the effectiveness of
grounding mats as a non-pharmacological
approach to improving sleep.
- Clinical trial results showed significant
improvements in sleep quality and stress-related
indicators, along with increased serotonin levels.
- Suggested the potential of non-drug sleep
interventions and their broader application in
preventive healthcare.

Sleep Quality Improvement Study
(2024 TOP VIEW PAPER)
- Suggested the potential of grounding mats to
support improved sleep quality.
- Indicated that grounding may serve as a useful
non-pharmacological approach for individuals
experiencing sleep difficulties.
- Demonstrated the potential for grounding to promote
deeper, more comfortable sleep and support the
body's natural recovery processes.

Biomedicines (2023.1)
Stress Reduction Research
Publication
- Confirmed statistically significant reductions in
anxiety-related responses within the grounding
groups after 7 and 21 days.
- Observed a marked decrease in the expression of
CRF, a key stress-related biomarker.
- Suggested the effectiveness of grounding in
supporting the regulation of stress responses
through electrical balance.
Journal of Physiology & Pathology

Anti-Inflammatory Effect
Research Publication
- Confirmed significant suppression of carrageenan
induced inflammatory responses in the grounding
group.

inflammatory effects compared with functional
material exposure and the control group.
- Provided foundational evidence supporting the
evaluation of functional materials related to sleep
wellness.
